The Process

The Team

Jonathan Jury BSc, MSc, FIMarEST

Engineering Consultant

An Engineering career of over 40 years at the sharp end of delivery of dynamic projects. The designs involved innovative and cost saving features wherever possible, including:

  • First use of fibre tethers for mooring submerged buoyancy tanks used in riser systems
  • Design of the largest diameter SCR’s (24in) installed in GOM in 6250ft WD.
  • Innovative analysis of damaged umbilical to demonstrate fitness for service
  • Quayside assembled, fully bolted, gravity based structure for current turbine support using minimal facilities for erection and installation – the design was road transportable

Recent experience in conceptual design of FOW structures. The studies used SPAR, Semi-Sub and TLP designs with coupled analysis, modelling turbine, floater and moorings dynamically to compare and optimise performance. Studies to optimise and industrialise assembly and production and improve welding and fabrication techniques to reduce cost, speed fabrication and improve reliability.

Dr John White BEng (Hons), PhD, MBA, FIMechE
